RO System - Reverse Osmosis

RO full form is Reverse Osmosis. In RO water purifiers, it passes water through the pump to increase water pressure then passes that pressured water through RO membrane(semi permeable). During this process dissolved solids and TDS present in water are eliminated. RO water purifier converts hard water to soft water. The disadvantage of RO water purifier is it produces a lot of waste water.

Reverse Osmosis is a water purification technology. The most common use of RO is to reduce the water hardness and eliminate contaminants like Fluoride, Arsenic, and Lead. MF is a full form of Micro filtration purification technology. In MF purification the water is passed through a special pore-sized membrane to separate microorganisms. Both reverse osmosis and nanofiltration are fundamentally different since the flow goes against the concentration gradient. Recent research found that if MF filtration is used as pre-filtration, before RO purification, the purification results are much more effective. Kent released such MF + RO purifiers in the market as well.
